I think I may have just found my favorite Meghan March hero! There's something about a self-made man from the wrong side of the tracks that instantly makes me fall.
I think part of the draw I have to Gabriel Legend is that, even after the first installment of this book, he's still such a mystery to me. I want to know more about him and find out all of his secrets. He's brooding, standoffish, dangerous, and insanely sexy. And deep down, he's a good man who's been on the receiving end of some bad luck.
Scarlett is the lightness to Gabriel's darkness. she's business-savvy, as well as determined and independent. She's also a social butterfly through and through. But her bubbly and bright personality helps hide her own moments of unhappiness. And it isn't until she meets the mysterious Gabriel Legend that she realizes just how unhappy she truly is.
This story is the beginning of something great. The more we delve into Gabriel, the more I know he's only going to get more amazing as the story goes on. And Scarlett is a breath of fresh air from the beginning that's fun to watch take ownership over her own happiness. Cliffhanger haters beware: this is a standard Meghan March trilogy, which means we have a long way to go to get our happy ending. But man, does she make it a fun ride. I highly recommend this book.
