True to my word, after I read the collaboration between Pippa Grant and Lili Valente, I grabbed the first book I could get that was written by Pippa Grant. Little did I know it was going to open up a whole new world to me that I can’t wait to go back and read.
Nick is...a mess. But I don’t mean that in a bad way. He’s all over the place, but the one thing he never struggles with is hockey, and even that’s not safe from his spiral right now. He’s fun and never takes anything seriously, which often leads to acting without thinking first. And that usually lands him in a heap of trouble with a variety of people. He’s also sweet, kind, loyal, protective, charming (hence the title), and completely irresistible. Oh, and sexy - A SEXY HOCKEY PLAYER!
Kami is so real and I think that makes her a relatable character. She struggles between what her mind says is right and what her heart says she wants. She’s caring and compassionate, almost to a fault, and it was good to see her finally put herself first for a change. She’s quirky and funny, and her brand of crazy is a perfect match to Nick’s.
I don’t think I’ve laughed out loud so much during a book before. There are so many shenanigans in this story, it’ll leave your head spinning. Unbeknownst to me, I came into this book and there are three other books ahead of it. Though they all can be read as standalones, this one definitely made me want to go back and endure more insanity.
