Author, wife, adoptive mother, and peanut butter lover. Will dance for laughs, won’t eat anything spicy because you asked, but will squeeze boobs in replace of a hug. Grew up in Southern California (Temecula, anyone? Anyone?) lived in New York (the armpit of NY, not the city) and now resides in Colorado with my wife, son, two dogs, three cats, and my multiple book boyfriends. Wow. Just, wow.
This book quite simply just wrecked me and I hope that the second part of this duet can pull me back together again.
Colby Brooks. This man here, is everything. So focused, so determined, so broken yet so perfect. I wanted nothing more than to wrap him up in my arms and love him from page one. To become the man he is wasn't easy. It was a long and difficult road. But there's so many layers to him that you never know which Colby you're truly going to get. He's quite a remarkable character.
Rory is the light to Colby’s dark. I think that's why he's so drawn to her, even though it's the last thing he wants or needs in his life. She’s exactly what Colby needs at the exact right time he needs it.
You guys...this book is unlike anything I’ve read from Meghan Quinn before. Admittedly I haven’t read all of her work...YET...but I can’t rave enough about this story so far. I’m so in love with Colby and I can’t wait to find out what happens in the conclusion. Be warned though: this book will leave you hanging and with a depleted supply of tissues. Make sure you stock up before the Downside of Love releases on July 5th.
