OH! I know. It's fantastic!
I'm a HUGE Lili Valente fan and Sylvia Pierce is a new-to-me author (not for long though) and the two of them have come up with a fun, quirky, unique book that checks ALL the boxes.
Jack Holt. Oh my. This guys is alpha in the least alpha way, if that makes any sense at all. He's sexy, charming, exudes intelligence and charisma, all with a boy-next-door sweetness that you don't expect. Is he sweet? Not hardly, especially when there's also a layer of bad-boy dreaminess to him too. But with Ellie, there's a softness there that blends the two together and it's perfect.
Speaking of Ellie, can I just say what a FABULOUS character this is?!? Not only is she quirky, funny, and willing to do anything for a story, but she's one of the smartest and savviest female leads I've read. Her sense of right and wrong and her desire to save the world one chauvinist at a time is commendable.
This story was great from beginning to end. There was never a lull in the action or a dull moment where Jack and Ellie were concerned. I literally laughed out loud at some of the humor, earning some less than ideal stares, but it was well worth it. I'd give this book more than five stars if I could.
This is definitely a one-click worthy read!
