In the blink of an eye, Jace Warner's life gets turned upside down. After six years of not hearing from his high school sweetheart, the only girl he's ever loved, Jace gets an urgent message from her to see him as soon as possible. Not only is he surprised to find her on her deathbed, but he's also surprised to find a little girl that looks just like him, a child he never knew existed.
Now, as her only surviving parent, Jace must learn how to be the father he never knew he wanted to be, and must do it under the watchful eye of a social worker he shares an interesting past with.
I always feel the need to stress this: Even though you can probably get away with reading these stories as stand-alone novels, YOU SHOULD TOTALLY GO BACK AND START THE SERIES FROM THE BEGINNING! I'm a firm believer in getting as much information and back-story on characters as I can, and there tends to be a lot going on with this family.
I loved this story. You'll fall for Jace from the beginning, his fierce love for the daughter he didn't know about coming though in all his actions. You're heart breaks for Kadence and all she's gone through, and will continue to go through as she grows up without her mom.
But for all these moments, don't worry. This is an Anne Mercier book after all, so there will be plenty of heat and naughtiness where the sexy bass player is concerned. Like I said, Jace and Summer (the social worker) share a bit of history, and as we all know history likes to repeat itself...
Another great installment to this fantastic series. I highly recommend it!
