Evey Banks is trying to keep her once troubled life in order. Home, work, home, repeat. But, as always, life has a way of doing what it wants. Enter Wade Parks, owner of the law firm where Evey works. A routine check of all his businesses leads to a quick introduction to Evey, but Parks sees something in her that he can't seem to get enough of, and the pursuit begins.
He's aggressive, pushy, and according to Evey, an arrogant arse. All the things she can't stand in a man. So, why is she so drawn to him? She desperately denies the fact that she's interested, but even she can't ignore her attraction. She justifies every encounter they have but, confused, she turns back to old habits to try and cope with these new found emotions and feelings.
LOVE these characters. Evey is complex. She struggles every day and just like in real life, she doesn't always win those battles. I think that makes her a very relate-able person and definitely someone we can root for to get her HEA. Wade is all things alpha male - sexy, dominant, confident, charming, and persuasive.
Together their chemistry is explosive.
Such a fantastic story so far. I can definitely recommend this one.
