EXCERPT “Excuse me!” I wave a twenty-dollar bill in the air. I may be single and here with my drunk friend who is spewing ex-boyfriend-related vitriol, but at least I’ve got the money to do it. I work for one of the biggest biotech conglomerates in the world, although unfortunately, being the executive assistant of Harley Royce is basically being a glorified secretary to the world’s biggest douchebag. Let’s be honest—in the corporate world, “billionaire” equals “bastard.” The money’s great, but the work sucks. I’m surprised I’m not a bigger drinker after all.
“Hey!” I yell out again, but no dice. This is what I get for wearing work gear to the bar—what twenty-two-year-old do you know decides to rock a black blazer to happy hour? I feel like my mother. Or my grandmother. Or both.
“Let me see if I can help.”
I turn at the sound of the voice but, when our eyes meet, I’m rendered momentarily stunned. Like elephant-dart-to-the-brain stunned.

The beefcake bartenders—sure, they’re hot in a conventional, Magic Mike sort of way. But this guy? He’s hot-hot. Universally hot. Ryan Gosling hot.
He’s wearing a dark suit—well-cut, grey wool, probably designer—and his dark-brown hair is neatly cropped, but he’s got a day or so of sexy scruff along his jawline. He looks like he just came in from a board meeting, but that he could have been rebuilding a carburetor yesterday. Put him in coveralls and he’d be your mechanic. (Your sexy as hell mechanic who you’d want bending you over the hood of your car after he changed the oil…)
“Yo, Bradshaw!”
He calls out at one bartender who’s leaning halfway over the bar with his face an inch away from being buried in a blonde girl’s cleavage. Bradshaw’s head pops up, one eyebrow raised.
“Landon—dude. Sorry, I didn’t see you there.” He sidles down to our end of the bar. “What can I get you?”
Landon gestures to me. “Ladies first.”
I blink at him. The words won’t come. My mouth and lips feel parched and unable to ask for the one thing they want—a drink. Or Landon’s tongue in my mouth. Whichever comes first.
“Hmm.” He presses his index finger to his lips—his full, gorgeous, sensual lips. “You look like a martini drinker.”
Honestly, I’m not—martinis are more of my boss’s kind of cocktail—something with one hundred dollars’ worth of vodka and at least a dozen olives.
“Dirty?”
My eyes fly back up to his and his dark brow is cocked.
“Excuse me?” I manage to say. It’s more like a squeak.
“Dirty?” he repeats. “A dirty martini?”
Oh. Because that was totally what I was thinking when he said that word. Sure.
“Um, yes. Please. Thank you.”

Part 1
This is a our introduction to the sexy Landon Blake. Right now, he remains a bit of a mystery, but I'm sure it'll all unravel as we go along. According to the author's goodreads page, this will be an eight - part serial.
Megan Clark is pulling her best friend duties at a local bar when she meets Landon. She can't believe that he would be interested in her when there are plenty of gorgeous women here at the bar.
When a passionate kiss leads to a promising evening that doesn't end the way either of them thought, the pair agree to a date the next night.
Only this evening turns out worse than the first did.
Part one gives you just enough to pull you in and hook you into the series.

Well, things have taken quite the turn.
After finding Landon at her boss's house, confusion and instant lust take over. She wants to believe he's not capable of the horrible things he's being accused of.
After grueling encounters with the police that night and the next day, Megan is spent. She wants to just forget about Landon and this entire mess.
But that's not going to be easy.
Definitely enjoying this story so far. It's keeping me quite intrigued and I'm about to jump into part three.

Part 3
I'm loving this series so far!
That's it! I'm officially hooked and I can't wait to find out what happens next. At this point I have no clue what's going to happen.
Megan's world is turned upside down. She's virtually a suspect without technically being a suspect. Landon is still professing his innocence to her and she almost fully believes him.
More secrets are revealed and she knows that she should steer clear of Landon, not only for her sanity but her safety as well.
But Landon isn't going to make it easy.

Another exciting installment!
After the break in, Megan is desperate for answers. She's been told to stay away from Landon, but it's an order she can't seem to follow.
When she finds a small piece of the truth, she doesn't hesitate to run strait to him. And this time she may not be able to let him go.
This series is getting really good. I can't seem to read the pages fast enough.

Wow....
Landon and Megan decide to do the unthinkable and head west to follow up on some leads, despite the fact neither of them is supposed to leave town.
It doesn't take them long to realize that maybe it's not only the police looking for them.
I seriously can't put these books down right now. I'm dying to see read what happens next.

Part 6
After some quick maneuvering to get out of being caught, Megan and Landon head to his family's cabin in the mountains to lay low.
But when Megan wakes up alone, she fears she's ruined her life over a man she never really knew to begin with.
I love this one. It's packed full of drama and there's plenty of action.

Part 7
Back home and alone, Megan is trying to put the pieces of her life back together. But as things start to unravel and she gets closer to the truth, she doesn't know who she can trust anymore.
Crazy twist and turns. This story is so good. I can't wait to finish it.

Wow, what an ending. I completely loved this book serial from beginning to end.
Definitely a great story.
I know you're waiting for my little description of what happened in this final installment but, sorry, you're not getting anything else from me. I hate spoilers.
Trust me. You're gonna love it...
