Let me say right off the bat that I'm already in love with this series. I've practally binge-read this first book and believe me, I'm jumping right into the second one as soon as I finish this review...
Reese has suffered abuse and heartache for as long as she can remember. That is, until she was able to move out on her own and make a better life for herself. But not a day goes by that she doesn't think about the boy. The one who was fostered by the her neighbors and the one who forever altered her life for the better.
Luke Ryann has never forgotten the girl from across the street, only now, when he's faced with her again, she's definitely not that little girl anymore. He's attracted to her, but he knows with his past that he needs to stay far away from her. Working closely with one another is not going to make it easy.
This story is really great. This author does a good job pulling you into these characters and you feel the struggle they are going through, both with each other and with their individual drama as well.
