REVIEW - NEXT TO ME
Number of Books in this Series: 2 (but hopefully more)
Next to Me
Wrong then Right
Theme: M/F
Well, this just may be one of my new favorite series to keep tabs on...
Next to Me is a Love Happens Novel and the first in the series. It was full of drama, mystery, intrigue, and suspense. In my opinion it's a great overall book.
Ali is starting her life over after leaving, or rather running from, her abusive ex-husband. Thanks to a surprise inheritance from a wealthy great aunt she never knew, she finds herself in a small beachfront community in California looking for a place to call home. The home she's currently viewing, while beautiful, doesn't provide the security she needs in case her ex should come looking for her.
The realtor mentions a local company that provides security that can satisfy her needs, and the owner just happens to be the next door neighbor and the realtor's brother - an ex Army sniper and all-around bad-ass.
Coming up with a plan to keep her ex at bay, Ali takes the house and sets about meeting Sam in the hopes that he'll be able to protect her. Her plan is to use him to scare away Danny should he ever track her down.
But even the best laid plans rarely come off without a hitch.....
I really enjoyed this book. I'm looking forward to reading the second one that just released and can't wait for more books in this series to be written.
I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review......
